Nearly 25,000 Left Without Electricity in Queensland and Victorian Regions Following Intense Weather Systems
Around twenty-five thousand households in southeastern Queensland were left without power on Monday's dawn after severe thunderstorms swept through the state, generating strong winds topping 109km/h.
Massive Frozen Precipitation and Extensive Destruction
Residents observed substantial frozen pellets measuring up to 7cm in certain regions. The Bureau of Meteorology verified that different parts across the state had been affected by large hailstones.

Emergency crews were working to restore power throughout the impacted areas, with dozens of response units working to manage the extensive power failures.
Victorian Weather Woes
At the same time, nearly 1,000 residents in the southern state also faced energy failures after the metropolitan area experienced its heaviest rainfall in a year and a half.
State Emergency Services received 598 emergency reports across the state, mainly for building damage but also for collapsed vegetation and flooding.

- Hoppers Crossing - numerous rescue reports
- Wyndham area - over 175 emergency requests
At the height on yesterday, over twenty-eight thousand energy customers in the state were without power.
Meteorological Predictions
Damp conditions were predicted to continue along much of the state's eastern regions this coming days as a low-pressure trough continued to pull in damp air against the coastal areas.
The following day was predicted as the wettest day, with persistent storm activity expected across multiple regions of both areas.

Health officials warned that there was an higher risk of weather-related respiratory issues across the state's northern country region, specifically given the ongoing climate situation.
